HRH Grand Duke Paul Unanimously Elected Secretary-General of the League of Small Nations

GREIFENBERG, 21 March 2009 (GPA) HRH Grand Duke Paul was today unanimously elected secretary-general of the League of Small Nations during the first General Conference of Heads of State or Government.

Speaking after the election, Joseph Hilger, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, said "I am delighted with today's decision of the League of Small Nations. I interpret the LSN's vote as a vote of confidence in HRH Grand Duke Paul. I have no doubt that HRH Grand Duke Paul will carry out his duties with honesty and dignity in full consultation with the all LSN Members and acting, at all times, in the best interests of the organization in pursuance of the ideals and objectives of the League of Small Nations.”

HRH Grand Duke Paul has served as acting secretary-general of the LSN since October 2008.
