GreifenbergPost was established in 2005 and is the national postal service of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg. In addition to its responsibility for delivering the mail, GreifenbergPost is also responsible for the production and sale of postage stamps and other philatelic products which are produced by the Greifenberg State Printing House (Greifenbergische Staatsdruckerei).
The Greifenberg Philatelic Office (GPO) represents GreifenbergPost in the international philatelic community. The GPO limits the number of special issues to no more than ten (10) issues per year. In addition, miniature sheets and First Day Covers are also planned and will be available for purchase through the GPO. Postage stamps and related items produced by the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg are much prized collectors' items and collectors from far and wide purchase our stamps.
Hello! My name is Martha Petersen and I am the Director of Greifenberg Post, the national postal service of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg. Our Sovereign, HRH Grand Duke Paul, once observed that ”Philately is an important ambassador of the image and culture of Greifenberg." In my position as Director of Greifenberg Post, this has never been more obviously true. Over the last several years, I have had the opportunity to talk and exchange emails with philatelists and stamp collectors from across the globe that have discovered an affinity for the stamps of our little micronation. In fact, my own fascination with the stamps of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg is what led me to this job in the first place!
Sought after by philatelists and stamp collectors seeking a connection with the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg and its fascinating history, interest in Greifenberg’s postal issues continues to grow. As a result of this increasing interest, over the last several months I have had the opportunity to discuss new ideas with HRH Grand Duke Paul -- himself an avid philatelist -- and to make some important changes to Greifenberg Post. Returning visitors to our webpage will no doubt see some of the cosmetic changes to our logo, email address, etc. However, the more important changes have to do with the planned increase in the number of annual postal issuances as well as the long awaited introduction of First Day Covers for all future stamp issues.
As a fellow philatelist and stamp collector, as well as the director of our postal service, I welcome any suggestions and constructive criticisms from our customers. Feel free to email me.
Martha Petersen
