GREIFENBERG — Today HRH Grand Duke Paul formally announced the acquisition of 0.8 hectares (2 acres) of land adjacent to the territory of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg. A Grand Ducal Decree has been issued proclaiming the official annexation of the territory by the grand duchy. The annexation of this new territory, to be known as Altenwald, has, in effect, nearly doubled the size of Greifenberg.
New Flag Introduced
In order to officially recognize the annexation of Altenwald, a Grand Ducal Decree has been issued announcing the introduction of a new national flag. The new flag, a tricolor, features the addition of a second royal blue stripe, signifying the annexation of Altenwald to the territory of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg. The new flag also features the addition of an eagle, as featured on the national coat of arms. The coat of arms, in miniature, appears on the breast of the eagle.
