MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR, JUSTICE AND STATE SECURITY
The safeguarding of internal security and public safety of a country are extremely important tasks. In a small nation like Greifenberg, which does not have large organizations to call upon to deploy large units if public security is threatened, it is a particularly important issue.
The Ministry for the Interior, Justice and State Security pursues the policy of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg in the spheres of protection of public order, public security, the prevention of crimes and other violations of the law, civil protection against disasters, protection of civil rights and the lawful interests of various enterprises, institutions and organizations. It also directs the activity of the police, border police, fire prevention, preliminary investigation, passport and immigration services and the supervision over security agencies. It also serves as an information-sharing and analytical forum for the police and intelligence agencies involved in the protection of the state.
The ministry lays down guidelines for legal policy, develops statute policy and directs its administrative sector. The ministry sees to the preconditions of a functioning democracy, the quality of the judicial system and the transparency of legal relationships, the access of people and organizations to effective means of realizing their rights, and the prerequisites of a fair trial. In addition, the ministry is responsible for ensuring the preconditions for effective crime prevention in cooperation with other authorities and for an equitable and effective penal system and enforcement of penalties. The ministry is also responsible for coordinating international and intermicronational cooperation within its field.
The state security apparatus in the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg consists of the Grand Ducal Gendarmerie, the Grand Ducal Office of Criminal Investigation and the Grand Ducal State Police.
Safeguarding the peace and security of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg is of paramount importance if our micronation is to enjoy the fruits of our labors. It is my goal to develop and pursue a policy designed to provide public security and order.
