MINISTRY FOR PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS
The Ministry of Public Works and Environmental Affairs works to ensure that the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg and its citizens have the requisite road infrastructure and administrative buildings at their disposal, which constitute a foundation for successful business activities and which require the prudent use of resources. The construction of new administrative buildings responds to the exigencies of an objectively demonstrated need. At the same time, the construction of new buildings and the renovation and restoration of existing buildings should enable energy-efficient operations and maintenance through appropriate conception and realization. By purchasing land in a targeted and forward-looking manner, the ministry creates the conditions for the availability of land reserves needed in the future for the aforementioned measures.

The ministry also promotes the concept of sustainable development. The objective is to ensure a good, safe living environment and biological diversity, and to prevent environmental damage. One of the great challenges of this era consists of how to both use and preserve natural resources. Sustainable environmental policy is therefore of the utmost importance. The ministry aims to protect the ecological assets and the landscape of our country, in order to preserve our natural environment, maintain the cultural identity and character of the Greifenberg landscape, enable sensible tourism, sustain an attractive living space, and also to establish Greifenberg's image as a role model with respect to the protection of nature and the environment.

The work of the ministry also includes the following fields:

Nature administration;
Forestry and afforestation issues;
National territorial planning (spatial planning);
Development of alternative energy sources;
Climate change policy;
Mapping and surveying;
Environmental research;
National parks;
Forest and landscape research;
Waste management strategy;
Rural affairs;
Geographic information.
Our investment in infrastructure and sustainable development is an investment in the future of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg. Our protection of the ecological assets of our micronation will serve as a testament to our dedication to the preservation of our nation and our way of life.
