1. The Minister’s role as principal adviser to HRH the Reigning Grand Duke and the Government of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg, as well as the government spokesperson on foreign policy and foreign affairs;
2. The conduct of the Government’s relations with other nations, as the customary channel through which all representations should be made to the Government by another nation or its diplomatic representatives, and through which the Government’s representations should be made to other governments and their representatives;
3. The provision of Protocol Services to the Government, the diplomatic and consular corps and in respect to the accreditation of foreign government representatives accredited to the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg and the Greifenberg Government representatives accredited to foreign countries, and of advice and appropriate assistance to civil society;
4. The maintenance and updating of a register of international and intermicronational instruments to which the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg is a state party, monitoring the development of new international and intermicronational instruments that are in Greifenberg’s national interest, analyzing such instruments (from an international and intermicronational political perspective) for consideration by the Government; and coordination of treaty implementation;
5. The coordination of assistance from regional, international and intermicro-national organizations and other states;
6. Assisting in the control of the borders of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg through the issuance of visas and recommendations on visa policy and entry requirements;
7. Instructions to and coordination of the work of ministries and departments of Government and Missions and Honorary Consular Corps of the Grand Duchy of Greifenberg abroad in the interest of achieving coherence in the implementation of foreign policy choices, and accomplishing Greifenberg’s objectives in foreign affairs;
8. The coordination and provision of information and materials, as appropriate, to other ministries and departments of Government having direct responsibility as principal representatives for international specialized technical and legal bodies or meetings;
9. The issuance of national identity documents including passports, Certificates of Identity and Emergency Passports, through the Passport Offices in Greifenberg and authorized Foreign Missions;
